ETHDenver

2020: The Year We Take Flight!

Welcome back #BUIDLers! Applications for ETHDenver 2020 are officially live here on Devfolio for developers, creatives, volunteers, speakers and all other breed of Bufficorns. We also have exciting news to share about ETHDenver’s evolution and some fun experiences planned for 2020, in our Medium Post here.

For newcomers, we’re excited to welcome you to ETHDenver, the largest Web3 #BUIDLathon in the world (formerly known as a hackathon). Ethereum and other blockchain protocol enthusiasts, designers and developers converge on the mile high city to #BUIDL the decentralized future. ETHDenver is free to attend; however, must apply, and be accepted, in advance.

Our 3-day weekend-long event is a nonstop, 24 hours a day, innovation marathon and is alive with a wide variety of activities. From talks and workshops by top blockchain influencers/experts to tech-art exhibitions, we have a futuristic experience for everyone.

The purpose of ETHDenver 2020 is to contribute to the global blockchain ecosystem, whether by #BUIDLing decentralized applications (dApps), contributing to infrastructure development projects, writing documentation/tutorials/white-papers, designing UI/UX, or info-graphics. So bring your inner awesomeness and some friends. We’ll provide mentors, resources, and provisions. Check out the schedule, FAQ’s and more info to help plan your trip at https://www.ethdenver.com.

ETHDenver 2020 Application

The ETHDenver crew is continually working to integrate community tools and “dog food” decentralized tech. This year we’re launching our attendance application through our friends at Devfolio, in partnership with Fortmatic. Your Fortmatic identity will serve as your ticket and engagement point throughout the event. Stay tuned for more on how this will work throughout the ecosytems.

Please note that Devfolio was originally designed for #BUIDLathon/hackathon events. While a few lines of the canned verbiage focuses on developers, note that we are excited to welcome diverse intelligences and all varieties of Bufficorns regardless of technological expertise.

On the first page of the application, we will ask how you wish to participate in the event. Please indicate any and all appropriate selections, even if you don’t intend to #BUIDL a project. If you need help along the way, don’t be shy! You can find us on Telegram, Twitter or [email protected]. We look forward to hearing your feedback on the new application experience!

How to Apply:

  1. Click the blue “Apply with Devfolio” button above and the system will assist you in creating a Fortmatic blockchain ID.
  2. Complete ETHDenver event questions and mandatory waiver (review waiver here)
  3. Once complete, complete the ‘Profile’ tab on the next page.
  4. After your ‘Profile’ shows 100% complete, visit the ‘Hackathons’ tab to formally submit your ETHDenver application as an individual or team (you can change later). Your application is submitted and complete after this step.
  5. Optional: Stake your application at https://stake.ethdenver.com/ to receive priority review and score rare swag. (See FAQs for more details)

Application Review/Acceptance Schedule

Applying early increases your probability of acceptance as space is limited. The ETHDenver team will be hard at work reviewing applications over the next few months to get you a quick response and here’s a peek at deadlines we’ll guarantee a response by:

  • WAVE 1: Apply by November 30th prior to midnight & receive confirmation no later than December 1st by 9PM MT.
  • WAVE 2: Apply by December 20th prior to midnight & receive confirmation no later than December 21st by 9PM MT.
  • WAVE 3: Apply by January 15th prior to midnight & receive confirmation no later than January 16th by 9PM MT.
  • You may apply AFTER January 15th and if space becomes available, we will approve applications based on availability. For best results, you must have your application submitted by no later than January 15th.
  • NOTE: If you are not initially accepted, you (or your team) will be automatically allocated to our waitlist and notified as space becomes available.

A few reminders:

  • Staking is 100% optional
  • You DO NOT have to stake to be accepted and attend ETHDenver 2020

  • If you choose not to stake, you can consider your application complete after #4 in the “How to Apply” section above.
